When they got within a few Miles of the town they were spotted by Volunteer sales Farmers who crouched in surrounding Orchards and then hot footed to hire Battery Headquarters with reports on the enemy movements. When the aggressors had been repulsed the villagers helped the of Sake up barbed wire till in gun emplacements and repair Miner damage.
