Bradley was brought to the dispensary with a piece if meat lodged in his Trachea. His Mother a registered nurse had tried unsuccessfully to dislodge the obstruction before bringing him to the base. The boy had turned Blue and was gasping when  arrived. First to see the child was alas Eugene Daniels and Charles Burn Side. The two airmen administered first Aid helping the baby to breathe. This kept him alive until the doctor arrived. Capt Richard Shermer on duty As medical officer of the Day was the chief surgeon in the operation. Capt Willard  Johnson dispensary commander assisted during the tracheotomy. Also providing assistance was capt Robert Becher. As soon As or. Shermer made the incision the child began to respond. A tube was inserted tomake it easier for the boy to  the men Bradley said the combined efforts of these men undoubtedly saved  son life a fact i shall never forget.
