John Surtees of England driving a Honda came in fourth followed by Chris Amon driving a Ferrari. Hulme finished the season with 50 championship Points to 44 for Brabham and 41 for Clark. Hulme drove the race he predicted to be sure of a finish in fourth place or better which assured him of his first championship no matter who won this race.
