The disease was diag nosed by local doctors who the had the patient moved to the Frankfurt University  clinic asked the Frankfurt fire department for its decompression chamber but it prove too Small. The local chamber could Only create pressures found at Depths up to 81 feet. The last Chance to save Westermayer was to get him to the medical Institute the Only facility in Western Germany having decompression chamber of sufficient capacity. Westermayer is presently undergoing treatment for Paral Ysis of the left leg.
