Mallory a 1957 graduate of Miami will succeed to seem Bechler Olio was recently named head coach at the University of Michigan. Mallory will follow such distinguished coaches As Woody Hayes of Ohio state Ara Parseghian of notre Dame Johnny Pont of Indiana and Sid Gilliam of the san Diego chargers All of whom coached at Miami. A graduate of Sandusky High school Mallory spent five seasons As a defensive coordinator at Bowling Green state University under Doyt  Falcons during that time captured four mid Ameri can conference titles and Rah tip a 49-7-1 record. After receiving his master s degree from Bowling Green Mallory coached East Palestine High school to a 9-0 record in1958. He was an All Mac end while at Miami and was coached for two seasons by Parseghian Andy Pont for one season. East Lansing Mich. Up former Michigan state All America Sherman Lewis was appointed an assistant football coach at his Alma mater tuesday. Lewis 26, becomes the second negroid the school s history to serve on the football staff. Last week the first negro coach former All America Don Coleman resigned after one year to go into teaching and academic administration. Lewis won All America honors at Michigan state in 1963. Heals won three big ten track titles and played professional football four seasons two in Canada and two with the new York jets of the american football league. Svare 37, former head coach of the los Angeles rams and former giant linebacker has been an assistant under coach Allie Sherman for the last two seasons.
