The vote was 221 to 177. The Senate had approved last Friday the same budget by a vote of 54 to 23. It is a Compromise worked out by House and Senate negotiators Between different budget resolutions previously passed by each House. The budget targets will be revised i september. The budget includes authority for $118.5 billion for defense some of it to be spent in later years a Compromise Between 1117 billion proposed by the House and $120 Bil lion that the Senate and president Carter republicans such As Marjorie Holt of Maryland said although the deficit was too High and wildly they supported the budget because the de sense figure Rose in the negotiations. Previously the largest number of House republicans supporting any budget Resolution was 12. Holt led a drive to persuade de sense minded republicans to support it.
