The firings had been expected Ever since mrs. Jean Yawkey widow of the late Thomas j. Yawkey who owned the team for 43 years and trustees of the Yankee estate sold the team on sept. 29. The Sale is expected to be completed oct. 31. Because o Connell is popular with team owners around the american league he is not expected to be let go until the Purchase is made final when approved by the other team owners the Globe said. O Connell said he had not been told he would be fired but added he would t be surprised. Rumours in the red sox Camp has it that Joseph Lacour a trustee of the Yawkey estate will travel to Boston Early next week to inform the three men of their termination
