He bought a Farmon Long Island and another in upstate new York. His sex wife Joan says they had Little social life. Mostly he fell asleep on the sofa after dinner. In 1969, As president of the new York horsemen s benevolent and protective association Jacobson led a nine Day horsemen s Boycott. It Cost the state $600,000 a Day. Then everything tumbled Down. In february 1970, one of Jacobson s owners accused him of stealing. Sam Lefrak said Jacobson cheated him out of $14,500 by lying about some horse deals. Jacobson called it a bookkeeping error but racing authorities suspended him for 45 Days and later refused him stall space citing the Lefrak  doors to racing were shut. By then he was divorced. He was 39 years old. Jacobson began to fee around some different worlds. In december 1970, he bought a ski Lodge the Norway in Vermont. He told a visiting reporter he was 29 and his Lodge was for singles for swingers. It s a party her every  the next year he bought two tenements on East 84thstreet, paying $75,000 in Cash on the $245,000 Price. Tupper secretly tape recorded one plea in which Jacobson offered to set him up in another restaurant and bar if he gave up Melanie. This from a Man who would later ask a judge Coset bail saying i am just about going bankrupt. I can t collect the rents. I already make my mortgage pay ments by the skin of my  Melanie tried to ride out the storm to reason with Jacobson. We were trying to handle it like adults she said later. I thought we were finally getting it  by sunday aug. 6, Melanie had decided she an Tupper should move and she went apartment Hunting. She returned around noon and found Tupper unexpectedly gone. She looked in at Jacobson s apartment found it in disarray and alarmed called  that time a couple driving 11 Miles away in the Bronx saw two men drag a crate from a yellow 1974 Cadillac. They saw the men set the crate afire then Speed away. They wrote Down the License  found a burned body inside the charred crate. Police stopped a Cadillac with that License. The drive was buddy Jacobson. Police say the couple can identify him As one of the two men the other is being sought. The medical examiner said Topper bad been beaten repeatedly stabbed shot seven times then burned. Two ballets in his body Wen fired from the same gun that had fired a Bullet into the door of Jacobson s apartment. Jacobson was charged with murder and jailed. Whence turned up at a bail hearing the Charlie Chaplin look was gone his Black Mustache shaved the Bushy hair cropped close. He looked his age. Police privately ruled out reports that drugs and mafia figures were involved. Melanie just outgrew him. She Learned everything Jacobson knew and wanted to move  one detective says. Her departure threatened riot Only his manhood but his business  Jacobson s Case is far from trial. He has denied the charges. Melanie is in seclusion. Her lawyer says Shell Cut herties to my fair lady and to any other business arrange ments with Jacobson. Tupper1 family is bitter. Just is months ago his brother Jerry died of leukaemia.
