because i had it when our children were teenagers in the Early i read that parents in Palo Are doing something about the problem instead of sitting around wringing their it All started when a Mother of a teen age girl was shocked to learn of the pres sure being put on her daughter to drink alcohol and smoke this Mother and 16 other parents formed a group called parents who they held a series of Kaffee latches and meetings at Gunn High school and have reached More than 500 the founder of the group said when she first started to talk to teenagers about what they did at they All said they drank booze and smoked when they got to talking in a More honest it became obvious that they we rent hav ing much the parents decided to draw up guide lines to create a healthy atmosphere and show the kids How much More fun they could have if they we rent stoned or it has worked share these guidelines with other parents who Are probably As frantic As the Palo Alto crowd used to Here they Are teenagers Are required to stay Home on school nights except for school or Community no running the streets or driving around weekend curfews for ninth graders be tween ii and lot graders and mid night and mid promotion list for 14 i just missed getting promoted because i had to wait 90 Days after my semiannual recomputation before my Points would be i could have been promoted with in the first 60 Days if my Points would have been but of by i had to wait that last 30 the same month my extra Points were effective the cutoff score went up to in sure there Are a lot of personnel who have been on the promotion list longer than i have and feel the same its one thing to wait 90 Days after a selection but to wait 90 Days after each recomputation is carrying it a bit this Means that Only six months out of a year you have 100 percent effectiveness of All Points in your 201 there must be something that can be done about this the army has made it twice As hard to get promoted with this new scoring system that will take effect in while the promotion status go to our Mili tary personnel offices and recompute our to my understanding most of us will lose up to on fourth or More of our already accumulated i honestly dont under stand the new scoring but i do understand that i May be losing some hard earned the personnel who decided on this new scoring system must not have had to be on a promotion standing list for 1 to 2 years or waiting to get or watching the cutoff score drop just Low or Recomputing your Points and waiting another 90 Days for those Points to become effective every time you recompute is beyond any reasonable knowing and having to wait for those extra Points to take effect is emotionally its hard enough for a Good Soldier to be recognized in this army this new scoring system reduces dedication to duty and time in service to like have worked hard to get where i am today and feel that i deserve my i would like to stay in the its hard enough to get promoted
