Most teams playing away like to strike first then try to hold off the Home team before the crowd gets involved. Not the pacers. Karlsruhe s men s basketball team styled their own Tempo in route to a 91-81 upset Victory Over the roadrunners. Pir Masens had gone into the saturday contest with a 12-0 Mark and atop the 21st sup port come standings. Karlsruhe 5-6 going in resembled a team out of its depth in the first 4 35. Held scoreless the pacers watched As Pir Masens bombed away to the tune of is straight Points on six baskets three of them from three Point Range. Taking a Cue from their adversaries the pacers countered with a Long Range attack by guard Roosevelt Berry. The smaller pacers outre bounded Pir Masens 30-17 in the second half and 49-33 for the game. The rebounds enabled Karlsruhe to slowly catch up with easy hoops underneath. Reggie Peel held to four first half Points exploded for 17 in the second half. He connected on three underneath hoop to spark the pacers on a comeback Gallop. His jumper with seven minutes left put his team ahead 68-67. The Lead changed hands six times be fore Berry Roosevelt who led the winners with 22 Points drove in for two Points to give his team the Lead for Good at 81-79 with 1 50 left. Karlsruhe scaled the Victory from the free throw line Canning 10 of 10 free throws in the last 1 41, six by Carl Randall and four by Roosevelt. Primus cons which hit Only one of its lust 10 shots from the Field was led by Roedfr who scored 31 Points before fouling out with 2 50 left. Mclvin key finished with 17 Points and Michael Seawright 10 for Pirn sons. Roosevelt led Karlsruhe with 22 Points. Peel had 21 and Randall 18. I heard about Mueller s fall and i tried to ski safely on that  Heinzer who had two second place finishes last year at Kitz Bushel and Wyngen the two major tests of downhill skiing said the Are Olympia track was one of his favourites. Leading a Host of surprising names earn ing Points saturday was austrian youngster Armin Assinger who stunned the 8.000 plus crowd by placing third from the 31st starving position. His time of 1 56.38 was .30 second better than austrian teammate Leonhard Slock the 1980 olympic Down Hill Champ who is having the finest season of his career. Assinger competed Here last year Fin Ishing first and second in two european cup downhills. In fifth was another late starter Martin Bell of Britain who proved that his eighth place finish Friday was no Fluke. Bell was Only .02 second behind Stock hitting the timer in 1 56.70. The top North american finisher was Canada s Rob Boyd another .06 behind Bell. It was Boyd s Best finish Ever. It was a sour Day for the United states. Bill Johnson the 1984 olympic downhill Champion set off a Roar when he recorded the fastest time through the first intermediate clocking. But the Malibu calif., Resi Dent made several mistakes in the Middle portions of the course and finished in App holi Donn Hiller Franz Heinzer wins in Sweden saturday. The lakers rewarded Westhead with a four year contract but then fired him 11 games into 1981-82 season replacing him with Pat Riley. One cause is still widely thought to be lakers Star magic Johnson s request to be traded. Was Thad says that s not True.
