Seventy six pupils in the firs through fifth grades were selected As voting authors for 19s i. Creative w riling is a Strong component at the  read ing teacher Andree Bayliss said. The children keep journals Kocim and Short stories that they write throughout the year and. When Competition Lime Cums around they choose their favorite piece of work and expand on it by writing a  the pupils could write on any topic of interest and in any form of writing including fiction. Non fiction to cry or essays. Their original manuscript could be of any length but it had to be in published form bound and with a Lite Page Page numbers and other Book parts where appropriate. Illustrations were Mil required but if included they had to be original designs draw Ings or paintings. The two selection panels each consisting of six pupils a Parent and a teacher judged the manuscripts on interest originality style and . Everything else there is to write about is Boring he  family Volks marches a lot and i wrote about this one because i fell in some Thorn Bushes and that in t exactly  the pupils like the Young author program and continue to write even though the Competition is Over for the year. Parents were invited to a recognition ceremony held at the school last week. All the bound books were displayed and each Pupil received a certificate of accomplishment. The books will be sent on an Exchange program to other Dodds elementary schools in Germany with similar pro Grams. We also lend them to schools who Don t have a pro Gram with the agreement that when they Start one they will Exchange their books with us Bayliss said.
