So i be made it into my business. I make a living from it. But i Don t just do it As a Job. I have to do it. I can t just stare at  photographing assignments for the associated press and other Media often to accompany a writer s interview Reichenthal usually has to work fast without a controlled studio setup. He talks about How he makes the Best of this. There s the Challenge to make the portrait Good in spite of the problems. The advantage is that you Don t Wear out your subject trying to get what you think is the Best photo. The spontaneity is still there when you work fast. The reason i go in close is because there s Seldom the right background one i might have set up. When you work like this you take what you get. If there s no Light you Light it. If i get the time one of my favorite tricks is to sit through the interview and then redirect the person to do what they did when they were not posing for the camera. I m not Bacharach so i Don t retouch. I m More interested in the character than the Beauty. I do pore by pore photographs. I shoot a lot of film. After two Rolls or so people begin to relax and then i la get that one shot  looking for. And i shoot so much because a photo is Only a moment in time. The subject you Start with is not the subject you end  Reichenthal began shooting pictures at the age of 9 with a Falcon camera in his Hometown of Toledo Ohio.
