On Lap 41, after the second of two caution periods for debris on the track Wallace started from the Lead but had a Flat tire and was unable to Back up to Speed. Upyt jumped Back on top and held the Lead until Pruett slipped past on Lap 60. Foyt filled one Lap later for tires and icel Sullivan to Chase Down the Leader. Sullivan moved past Pruell on Lap 63 and easily led the rest of the Way. He averaged 98.540 Mph. Laps run under caution do not count. Foyt finished fifth followed by Terry Labonte Dale Earnhardt Brabham Hurley Haywood Rick Mears Bill Elliott and Petty.
