I can t count the number of times i have covered for doctors who made a mistake because they were drunk or exhausted. You d think they would be grateful but in return we get treated like dirt the patients take their cues from the doctors and administrators. They  that we Are not respected so they Call us Girlie wait Ress and worse. People will pay a teen Ager $25 to mow a Lawn but they resent a nurse being paid $9.49 an hour for making Deci Sions that could determine whether they live or die. We have the highest miscarriage rate of any profession. We have the third highest divorce rate. We have the second. Highest rate of alcoholism. Show me a nurse Over 30 and will show you a woman with a wrecked Back. If i sound bitter it s because i am. One of Many in St. Petersburg Fla. I was not pleased to read those complaints from  any nurse Why she chose the profession and you will find it was because she had a genuine desire to serve humanity. I would like to respond to this unselfish act on her part by saying i would definitely do the same thing. The lawmakers in Santa Cruz have acted immorally. The Laws were changed to fit the needs of the Rich but not the poor. More attention should be focused on the deprived. The City is refusing to accept the fact that these people require much needed assistance. But instead the ones with a heart Are jailed while the others wit More to offer turn their Heads. Every City with homeless persons should realize they Are human just like the lawmakers. If one s Basic needs Are not met problems arise. I can understand that the City will not tolerate loitering. But it is a shame to realize the need and no provide the necessary help. One must understand that these deprived people will gather wherever there is food because they have nowhere else to go. This is Why it s so important for them to have a roof overhead and the necessary ingredients to sustain life. So lawmakers provide the necessary foundation so that they May carry on. If not they will Only lie weak and die. Open your eyes to  the suffering around  them the Chance to fit Back into the mainstream of life. If these things Are not accomplished we Only teach this generation that it is wrong to care about Mankind and its survival. Dawn y.
