The doctor explained that most people Are sensitive to secondhand smoke and children arc especially Vulner Able. It s been eight weeks since my husband has agree not to smoke in the House. Forces letters writers react to articles on enlisted wives 1 would like to respond to your recent articles on enlisted wives married to the person ally i Felt they were very negative and depressing. Just a few months ago. The articles on the officers wives were much More positive and upbeat. Well i would like to share with you an essay that applies to All military spouses. I won $25 for writing this for spouse appreciation in april 1987 while stationed in Rimini Italy. I Hope that All military spouses everywhere will be encouraged and that the military will gain a better understanding of our role. What is a military spouse a military spouse is a unique individual. He or she becomes an indirect part of the military in Many Dif Ferent ways. With the Mission that the military strives to accomplish the military spouse gives an incredible amount of time and Energy to help carry it out. First of All the military spouse has the primary responsibility of being supportive. This support involves listening giving encouragement and really caring in the Happy and difficult times of the spouse s career. Secondly the military spouse must be willing to sacrifice his or her own needs for the Sake of the mis Sion. When the demands and pressures of the spouse Are the greatest the military spouse must be Able to adapt and often give up his or her own will. The reality of his or her sacrifice yields untold benefits to the military. Thirdly the military spouse must have an extra dose of patience and understanding. This is not easy especially when he or she docs not always agree with the military Way of thinking. But it is said patience is a virtue. Well this is absolutely True when the military spouse ponders All the circumstances positive and negative encountered in the military life. So inc military spouse is a unique individual offer ing the military the behind the scenes courage to endure and be sensitive to its Mission. As Long As the military is around there will be a military spouse to help make the difference.
