Ally arc s kick was his second Field goal in the final .2 40 after Washington had erased a 21-10 fourth quart Ler deficit with two Louch i Downs within 54 seconds. It was the giants sixth win in their last seven non strike games with washing ton. They beat the redskins 27-20 in last year s monday night opener. Rypien completed 22 of 32 passes for 349 Yards. Ricky Sanders caught six for 143 Yards and Gary Clark six for 101. Simms completed ii of9 passes for 254 Yards including touchdown passes of 30 Yards to Odessa Turner and to 17 left. The game started slowly then turned into a shoot out Between Simms and Rypien. Simms 30-yarder Loturner who had three catches for 99 Yards in the first Quarter and 62-Yardcr to Meg gelt in the second gave new York a 14-0 Lead. Rypien threw to passes of 48 Yards to Sanders and six Yards to Art Monk. Less than a minute later Monte Coltman picked off a Simms pass and returned it 24 Yards for a touchdown. Oltis Anderson filling in for the injured Joe mor Ris carried 23 times for 93 Yards for the giants. Washington s Gerald Riggs carried 24 times for 111 Yards. Washington had to Settle for just three Points from two trips inside the new York 10, and that Cost the redskins the game.
