Greene s orders requiring Reagan to provide testimony Ana personal records appeared to reflect the judge s determination to allow Poindexter wide latitude in exploring Reagan s role in the Iran Contra affair based on defense assertions that Reagan authorized Point Cut or s actions. The judge who reviewed 100 excerpts of the Reagan diaries in private has or dered Reagan to turn Over 29 entries re lated to the administration s secret arms sales to Iran to finance efforts on behalf of the nicaraguan rebels known As con tras at a time when Congress banned official Contra Aid. Reagan has insisted he knew nothing about the diversion. The judge has said he has not passed judgment on  s assertion that Reagan approved of his Iran Contra activities.
