The proposed $ i billion budget for the department of defense dependents schools includes about s80 million for construction nearly All of it in West Germany and the United kingdom and j93i million for operating the Over seas school system. About $17 million of the construction fund is for upgrading student meal facilities. Teachers salaries and benefits account for $520.1 million of the operating costs. The rest is for maintenance sup plies and related costs. Eight schools in West Germany and one in the United kingdom Are scheduled for construction projects. Major work is proposed in . Ramstein.
