The student choir which also will travel to the soviet Union april 27 through May 6, will present an hour Long concert at the Central Chapel next to the Frankfurt High school. The concert will begin at 4 . Students were selected last october. They have had three rehearsals in Frankfurt and have logged countless hours of work at Home with a study cassette to prepare for the trip music director Gary Kelb said. The soviet tour will be the first for a Dodds High school choir Kelb said. The Frankfurt concert is free and open to the Public. Association offering College scholarships Heidelberg West Germany a the european Region of the United states army warrant officers association is offering scholarships to graduating seniors. The chapter will provide up to four $1,000 scholarships to 1990 graduates of department of defense dependents schools. An applicant must be a family member of a regular member of the warrant officers association and must attend a College or University in the fall. Scholarships will be based on academic achievement Community service and recommendations. Each applicant will also be required to write a Short essay. Applications must be postmarked by May 1. Alta was one of about 245 department of defense dependents schools Atlantic Region and British students who spent an artistic weekend at the Lakenheath american Middle school participating in 52 workshops in the visual arts and dramatic disciplines. Also among the students were eight from Dodds schools in Bermuda and Cuba and three German students. Each school within the Dodds Atlan tic Region sent about five representatives. The workshops part of the 10th annual Young in arts festival were taught by several Dodds Art teachers and professional British artists. Students in kindergarten through fifth Grade designed danish style mobiles created sculptures from paper and made paper puppets. Older students Learned to Bend and weave Reeds into baskets to design abstract silk screen prints and to use a Xerox copy machine As an artistic tool of expression. High school students also toured London museums including the museum of the moving image and the National gallery. The Lakenheath school cafeteria was transformed into a student Art gallery. Works by Dodds at Antic elementary students lined the corridor Halls. Every available classroom was converted into a makeshift workshop Stu. Dio.
