European Stars and Stripes (Newspaper) - April 20, 1990, Darmstadt, Hesse The stars and stripes a Page 11 too often i have read letters in the newspaper of people complaining about an the Exchange the military police and other various activities throughout our communities. But rarely do i see a letter of gratitude for Good deeds. That is the very purpose of this letter. 1 would like to express my sincere appreciation to the organizations at Schwabish Hall when our 9-year-old daughter had an Accident no one was at fault while preparing for her gymnastics class. While warming up she lost her balance and broke both Bones in her right forearm. From the time of the incident until her arrival at the local Hospital she received nothing but professional and genuinely concerned care. The gymnastics instructor remained with my daughter comforting her until my arrival. A Friend called for professional assistance. The medical clinic personnel with their professionalism and genuine concern provided excellent first Aid and transported her to the i saw recently on can that Ralph Nader is trying to gain support to lobby against another proposed postal rate increase in the United states. I would like to Contact him and find out what i can do to help. From what in be seen Over the last decade it seems that rate increases have become routine for the postal service. Every two to three years they re there asking for an increase in the Price we pay for a stamp. While this is not exactly an Earth shattering event it really irks me to see that there Are Many Stamps issued every year in All shapes and sizes and designs. Done to get me wrong a in a a stamp collector myself but i know that behind every stamp there Are several costs such As design fees production printing distribution labor die casts Etc. While i done to claim to know the exact Cost of All this i believe that if the postal service were to concen a geography impacts i refer to the recent article a Sony just goofed no reference to Pearl Harbor even a historically aware japanese technical writer preparing that instruction Booklet would have stumbled in this situation. The military police coordinated Contact with the local Hospital and drove off Post to pick up my wife and bring her to the base rather than waste time trying to Contact her by phone. The genuine concern care and Overall performance of everyone involved enabled us to have her at the Hospital with no further damage to her Arm and in Good mental spirits. It makes us feel Good to know that we live and work in a Community where people truly care and we can rely on the professionalism of All the agencies on the base. I just wanted to say thanks again to everyone who assisted us. And to everyone who has a complaint about their Community agencies remember if necessary you would also receive the same professional help and genuine concern that we did. I Only Hope you Are As appreciative As we Are. A Gregory w. Then possibly they could deliver a better Quality product and Benefit the taxpayers by not passing along these costs quite As often. My neighbor and Friend says a absolutely she believes that the boy would be frightened bewildered and perhaps traumatized if he saw his grandmother in a casket Stone cold with lots of makeup appearing to be asleep. My sister on the other hand says that the boy should not be shielded from the realities of life because death is a the real i should Tell you that a a Gregory is a Well adjusted child Happy and we have never had any problems with him. We have not told him yet that grandma is not going to get Well but he seems to know it. Please give us some guidance. A not much time in Stockton dear Stockton in my opinion a 5-Vear-old is too Young to handle the experience you describe. The viewing at the mortuary is Only one aspect that May be perplexing and upsetting to the child. Lowering the casket into the ground and leaving grandma in the cemetery would be much More difficult for a youngster to Deal with. Most authorities believe that children under 8 years of age should not be subjected to open caskets and burial services. Dear Ann Landers can you stand one More letter about dating services i nope so because i think you Are presenting a lopsided picture. Here a my Story 1 never cared for singles clubs and Wasny to into the bar scene. I was brought up in a Christian Home and believed that you went out with men you met in Church or your place of work. Unfortunately i never met a Man in Church or at work that i was drawn to. A woman i knew Well and respected suggested that i sign up with a dating club. They had special rates for women Between 18 and 30. I received 10 pages of names with detailed information about each candidate. I went out with 11 men mostly respectable and pleasant but there was t one that i wanted to Sec again. Then no. 12 appeared at my front door. I knew after the first Date that he was the Man i had been dreaming about and praying for. I was trying on wedding gowns a month before he asked me to marry him. We have been happily married for 10 years and arc still very much in love. Incidentally Ann his first marriage did no to work out. She was a girl he had met in Church. So please give credit where credit is due. A Indianapolis dear Indianapolis Happy to. Your letter proves that not All dating clubs Are rip offs. However my mail is a faithful reflection of what is happening out there and it has convinced me that the overwhelming majority of dating services Are highly questionable. I would never recommend one.
