     European Stars and Stripes (Newspaper) - August 16, 1990, Darmstadt, Hesse                                By Randy Barnett motor sports editor in less than three years the Ross Bianco museum in Aschaffenbur West Germany has become a Mecca for sports car fans throughout Europe the museum has More than 200 sports cars in its permanent collection. The list ranges from a 1906 Brasier to 1,450-horsepower can am monsters. While the museum s emphasis is on two seater sports racing cars classic sports cars of Many Marques and varieties also Shine within the 330,000 Square feet of automotive history. The museum opened in october 19b7 and has developed steadily with an Art gallery added Only two months ago. See pages 6 and 7. Other new features include 10 Quot Robies a High tech television monitors stationed throughout the museum. With the push of a Button they provide details on the cars exhibited and then show movies of the cars in action during their heydays. The Quot Robies Quot also show films of racing in both modern times and in the Early Days. The entire Quot Robic Quot concept at the Rosso Bianco museum is Brilliant and helps the visitor to enjoy his stay. And with the number of cars on display the stay can be a Long one. Also added since the opening Days is a huge Wall painting of the 24 hours of be mans race. The painting 125 feet wide arid 16.5 feet High is a backdrop to the sports racing car Section. The racing cars appear to drive right out of the huge Back Wall painting. It s a stunning effect. Peter Kaus and Hans Holger Frenzel Are partners in the museum Enterprise. Kraus who began his collection nearly 20 years ago owns most of the cars. Kaus who raced cars during the 1960s, said the collection s Quot Rosso Bianco Quot italian for red and White name comes Rorri the colors of the City of Frankfurt. Quot i m from Frankfurt Quot Kaus said Quot and when i raced i also called my team the Rosso Bianco racing team so the name for the museum and the car collection came naturally. The color scheme for both the inside and outside of the museum is red and  Kaus and Frenzel Are both Maserati car aficionados and met at a masts to club function. It s obvious that they like italian cars the collection s emphasis is on italian machinery with some 30 Alfa Romeos 24 Masera is and 20 ferraris on display most of them Are red a the italian National racing color a and All of them Beautiful to see. The Rosso Bianco collection of alfas is the second largest in the world. Only the Alfa Romeo factory collection in arese Italy is bigger. Among other sports racing car Marques on display Are a Bristol Aston Martin Austin Healy Bow Chevron Cis italia Cooper Delahaye Elva Ford gt40, Jaguar Lamborghini Lotus Mercedes my Osca Triumph and Veritas. There is also a Shelby Mustang it 350, owned by Ron Randolph of san Francisco Calif. Randolph a civil Engineer once served with the army corps of engineers in Frankfurt. The museum also features paintings and posters of cars and famous races throughout its Many Halls and All tastefully accompany the car displays. J from april through october the museum is open daily except mondays from 10 . To 6 . From november through March it is open Only on sundays from 10 . To 6 . Entrance fees Are 10 Marks about $6.50 Lor adults 8 Marks per person for groups of 20 or More 6 Marks for students and 4 Marks apiece for students in groups of 40 or More. The Rosso Bianco museum is at Obernauer Strasse 125 in Aschaffenbur. To reach the grounds there is a huge parking Lotus autobahn a5 Frankfurt Wurzburg taking either the East or West a Schattenburg exit and then follow the signs marked  above the Saubert Mercedes Quot Kouros Quot and a mural that makes racing cars appear to drive off the museum Wall and onto the display floor. Above a Gull winged Mercedes sports car from the 1950s faces a Row of ferraris. Below a Ford Cinfel roadster from the 1930s, a August la 9 stripes nug Arine 5
