He said a maybe we can rekindle the i liked him a lot a few years ago and said a a in a love to give it a try. He made dinner reservations at a Nice place that also had dancing. When we got there he ordered expensive wine and proceeded to drink the entire bottle himself. After several hours of Dull conversation the Check arrived. He looked at it and said a holy Moses its $97.25 without the tip do you have your share a i replied a a you re joking right a he said a no in a not joking. I had no idea this place was so i said a look you made the reservation. I done to know anything about this thank the Good lord i had enough Money on me to pay the Bill. When he saw that i was upset he said a a in a really sorry about this. Why done to we go to your place kiss and make up and maybe something magic will can you believe the nerve of that Jerk first he stiffs me for half the dinner Check and then he tries to get me into the sack. Tell your readers that once an old flame has gone out to leave it alone. I did no to have sense enough to do this and i got badly burned. Patricia in Utah dear Patricia sorry about your miserable experience but a a rekindling has worked Well for some couples. Any of you readers want to Tell us about it dear Ann Landers i am 30 years old. The Man i have been seeing for four years is in his 40s. After a Long Friendship we fell in love. I had the Shock of my life a few weeks ago when i discovered that i was pregnant. A a Larry and i know each other extremely Well care deeply for one another and Are educated professionals. We feel that we have a great Deal to offer any child and decided to get married immediately. We Are very comfortable with this decision. The Only problem now is the talkers. You would not believe the number of people who in this Day and age still whisper that we a had to get they treat us As if we were two teen agers gone astray. Why done to they realize that this is the ?T90s? no one a has to get married. Alternatives such As abortion do exist and Many women Are choosing to raise children alone. Since science has not yet discovered a foolproof method of birth control you can bet that Many couples Are quietly eliminating unplanned pregnancies and they will continue to do so no matter what obstacles Are put in their Way. Pregnant couples who decide to marry deserve respect and moral support. It is not easy to face busybodies who Are counting behind your Back. How about a word of Praise for those who have opted to take the High Road holding my head up in Ohio dear head up i cannot imagine a decision that is More personal or less the business of onlookers. Why is it so important to you to have their approval entirely too much Energy is wasted worrying about what other people think. If we know How Little they cared wed be a lot less concerned c creators Syndicate i am a sergeant in the . Army and have been in the service for almost four years. Although i still have a lot to learn about the army i strongly remember the lessons i was taught in Basic training a lessons on How to be a Soldier which include respect toward your fellow soldiers and their family members. I am addressing an Issue that affects Many soldiers and their families Back Home a mail tampering. To the few soldiers who have the audacity to tamper with a fellow soldiers mail especially in these conditions saudi Arabi and speaking for Many victimized soldiers i Hope you Are caught and convicted. Do you realize the effect you Are having on soldiers and family members do you realize that you Are a cause of poor morale among the troops in saudi Arabia do you realize that mail tampering is a Federal offence also have you Ever had the experience where a Soldier opened a package from a loved one to find the contents missing or to receive a letter partially opened and the photographs missing from it obviously you have not. Neither experience is a Good feeling. Professional soldiers Are trained to live under Tough situations and survive. To survive soldiers pull together and support each other to accomplish the Mission. The soldiers deployed in saudi Arabia Are doing just that. All we ask for in return is that mail from our loved ones be delivered promptly without tampering. It is bad enough that our mail is being censored and occasionally inspected by the saudi officials but for our own troops to steal from fellow soldiers is an unacceptable disgrace and embarrassment to All members in uniform. A person tampering with the mail is a major morale killer among the troops. If soldiers morale is Low their performance is Likely to be As Low. A mail Tampere is As bad As the enemy among the ranks of soldiers. The Only in response to your article about an airman who is unashamed of enjoying the Gulf More than most i done to know what armed forces he enlisted in but the one i enlisted in made me take an oath saying i would defend the Constitution against All enemies both foreign and Domestic and not for who had a better life style. As far As getting off the plane in saudi Arabia not sure what we were getting into a that is All wrong. If he would have flown in a plane and had layovers in new York and Frankfurt for a total of 21 hours he would have realized that its hard to look Happy and fresh like you just woke up. Its bad enough Riding on a Long flight in civilian clothes because of tight seating arrangements but when you try and fit your weapons be and nuclear biological chemical protective gear by your feet and under the seat in front of you it tends to get crowded. It Wasny to that we did no to know what we were doing or getting into it was the Long crowded flight Over Here. If helping with disaster Relief is part of the combat Mission the airman has a different definition of combat than i do. Army soldiers Are always helping with Forest fires and flood and Tornado damage but we done to say that is a part of our wartime Mission. We even sent army doctors and nurses to worldwide disasters and did no to consider them combat situations. I would like to say that the airman needs to get his data straight before he goes Public on the life and jobs of the military. We Are supposed to be the . Armed forces and work together to defeat an enemy or keep Way this can be stopped is for soldiers to speak up if they have knowledge of mail tampering to report even Small cases of mail tampering to their Chain of command and inform families of the problem and Tell them to secure packages better. Unfortunately any Soldier and item is a target of these prying pests. Items from photos tobacco products magazines and Walkman have been reported stolen. It is a shame that a Soldier cannot feel Safe to Trust his fellow soldiers especially during a crisis. As for people this is addressed to i Hope you take heed of this letter and Stop your pilfering. You Are not oing unnoticed and if you continue eventually you will e caught. I believe i can speak for the majority of the soldiers in saudi when i say i Hope they show no mercy in convicting the guilty. A sgt. Bruce Wright operation desert shield this letter is for All of the soldiers who Are currently on duty in saudi Arabia with a full understanding that there is nothing More important than receiving letters and packages from Home. They carry an extra special importance and sentiment when sent from someone special. Sometimes these Long awaited letters and packages do not make it to the person for whom they Are intended. You wait and wait some More and still no package. You Are now receiving letters asking How you liked your special gift. What do you say How do you say that you never received it i am trying to say simply pleasure comes in Small packages and from far away. Is it right to deny someone that pleasure so if someone mistakenly receives a Little pleasure that does not have their name on it make an Effort to find the recipient of that valued commodity please a staff sgt. David w. Svec operation desert shield him from attacking. Each military service has its Job to do to make this happen and its not a matter of providing the service because we thought it would be a Nice thing to do. A staff sgt. Gerald c. Paggi operation desert shield i think that the article was pretty demeaning to other branches and in very poor taste. I am a sergeant in the marines with a Mission of repairing communications electronic equipment. The Marine corps has a different Mission from the air Force. So naturally our working and living environments Are different. No one service is better or More important than the other. It takes the collective efforts of All to keep it together. A sgt. . Cooley operation desert shield. While those of us in combat arms jobs Are doing a lot More waiting around than anything else ill have you know that the support battalions Are working like dogs in a hot Dusty thankless environment with one hot meal if that no air conditioning and a Shower maybe every three Days. These Are the ones who Are feeding us and providing a lot of the maintenance on our vehicles As Well As trying to get Shower Points resupply and Asp Points set up. Everybody should just be proud of the Job they do and the fact that they served is enough in my Book. A pfc. James d.
