Sir you have just crossed Over a great and fearful Barrier one that Many never even reach. You have proved to yourself and others that you can do it. There will be a Little sorrow and disorientation for a while but this too will pass. A smitty Raf Ben Waters England Missouri Deer Bunting having just read the a ugly Side of game trophy accrual a i must take exception to some of the a a facts stated in the article. As a Hunter and lifelong resident of Missouri l am familiar with the state game Laws. Missouri issues an unlimited number of antlered Deer Buck tags yearly and in certain areas issues a limited number of any Deer tags on a lottery. The state limits the number of Deer killed by limiting the number of Days in the season. Very few Hunters can afford the Price of a trophy Hunt but anyone who has a Rifle firing a Bullet of 55 grains or larger and can pay for a Deer tag can Hunt for a trophy. Many Hunters go afield with Rifle in hand looking for that record Buck. It costs nothing to have your Bucko a Antlers measured and if it scores More Points than the current record your name goes into the record Book. The Missouri department of Conser letters to the editor vation Deer Herd and limits its Harvest to ensure that Breeding Stock replenish the Herd for future generations. A a. A. If there san objection to out of state Hunters then Why sell non resident tags non residents Are charged about 15 times the resident Hunters fee. Hunters Are limited to one Deer apiece. How Many of them did no to kill a Deer because they were waiting for the trophy Buck they still paid for the tag which goes to pay for the Cost of managing the Deer Herd. As Hunters and conservationists we need to concern ourselves with maintaining wildlife habitat and populations at a sustainable level. Leave the legitimate Hunters to pursue their trophies whether their goal is meat on the table or their name in the a a record Book. A staff sgt. Donald d.
