Getting into Liege is no problem but finding a parking space is so visitors should be prepared to spend some time looking for a garage or a space to Park the car. The office is in the Center of town and visitors will have to negotiate some heavy traffic to get there depending on the time of Day. Office employees Are Friendly fluent in English and have the answers to the most asked questions. Free information on tourist sights sporting events cultural activities and nightlife plus assistance in making hotel arrangements Are available. A Good Way for tourists on a budget to see the town is on one of the tourist office s self guided walking Tours. The tour pamphlets Are Complete and easy to follow. The Tours Are Only about two Miles Long but have enough packed into them to last three Days and it s Nice to be Able to set your own Pace. For those willing to pay the Price Liege can also be seen by boat by taking cruises on the River Meuse by plane from the Airport at i amp be and by English speaking taxi tour guides. Information on All three is available at the tourist office. Lige is a shopper s Paradise with thousands of retail shops and almost 500 Large department stores in or near the City Center. Local flavor can be found in the crammed alleyways in the Center of town where vendors sell belgian waffles and French Fries next to hand carved puppets and Antiques. Restaurants and cafes Are abundant and limited Only by the visitor s tastes. Visitors to Aachen should make one of the City s two tourist information centers one of their first stops. There is one at the train station and another in the Center of town near the Cathedral. A there is a variety of accommodations in Aachen ranging from Large resort spas to regular hotels and Gas Hauses. Many of the City attractions Are very inexpensive to visit. For example adults can tour the City Hall and see Aachen s Crown jewels for 1 Mark about 60 cent while children Are admitted for half that. It will Cost to Park however whether on the Street or in a garage. Aachen s streets Are filled with pubs historic inns ethnic eateries and fancy restaurants. For those who want local flavor a visit to a cafe for Printen a spicy Gingerbread is a must.
