A John Jan late and friends Bobingen Germany a stick to the facts in my 10 years in the . Air Force i have heard and seen Many armed forces radio and television service commercials. Most although amateurish in presentation were at least factual in basis. Until now. I just heard an arts commercial stated that National statistics showed motorcycle riders who did not Wear helmets had a a drastically higher percentage of serious injuries. This simply is not True. The National statistics i have read reflect almost identical ratios of injury for helmet wearers and non wearers. In fact to find the exact statistical difference the surveyors the . Government had to go to the thousandth Decimal. If the commercial had stated that the wearing of helmets for military members Dod employees and their dependents was mandatory i would have no problems with it. I feel that a military order or regulation is sufficient reason to Wear helmets without adding a ridiculous inaccurate claim about some mythical statistics. Has the Dod got such Low regard for its employees that it feels we will just simply believe any propaganda put out to us regardless of the truthfulness of the information or were they simply irresponsible in their practices a Stal sgt. Glen p. Davis san Vito air station Italy rip offs by packers this letter is a warning to All military personnel stationed overseas and awaiting a Long overdue pcs Back to the states. Take the time to safeguard your valuables. The an commercials Are right about this to a Point. But there Are better ways to ensure a Safe and Happy move. Everyone has heard horror stories about broken and or damaged household goods. There is also the problem of stolen goods. You never hear much about this but believe me it happens. On Jan. 28, the movers came to our quarters to pack our belongings for shipment. They arrived Early in the morning and being the diplomatic sort i went to the local bakery and bought Brotcher luncheon meat and beverages for the packers. They were doing a great Job and things were progressing smoothly. When it came time to pack my wife a hummels and Crystal she was extra nervous. The Young Man packing her things assured her that he would take extra care in packing these. Today we know Why he was so concerned about doing an extra special Job with those items. Sure we had pictures of All the figurines and will More than Likely be reimbursed for the loss. But you can to replace the sentiments and memories that were lost when that Box and Only that Box failed to show up at our new Home. All i can say is if you have items that you treasure and could never replace mail them yourself. It will Cost you a few dollars More but it will be Worth it in the Long run. Remember just because you see it go in the crate does no to Lecce warily mean it will come out. A sgt. 1st class Michael j. There is a need for Black history month and other related events because they recognize our Black ancestors achievements and because achievements by Blacks have been overlooked and suppressed by writers of history books. We All need to accept responsibility for educating our Young and our old on Black history and other subjects by investing in such educate pal resources As books documentaries Etc. If schools would teach the accomplishments of our Black ancestors this might motivate students to Excel. We May even witness increases in school attendance the literacy and graduation rate an increase in influential Black members of society and ultimately an increase in respect for each other. Or. These students poured their heart and soul into the works they created i feel these artists were not adequately represented in your article. The combination of instructors alone was breathtaking. Barbara Bushby from Australia has completed her own alphabet Book with acrylic illustrations in extraordinarily minute detail. Also Kurt Wenner from California a he is an accomplished artist. This was a learning experience. As artists we Learned to respect each others talents desires and Effort. This was also a a gathering together of the eccentric talented and curious minds throughout Dodds. This was a Chance to be surrounded by others who feel As strongly about the definition of Art As we do a whether we express it with music paint our hands our voices or our entire bodies. We opened our hearts to each other because we Felt the support and approval from our fellow artists that we can not find from other friends teachers or family members. Many students made lasting friendships. We wanted to share our convictions and dreams to the world through our respective arts. A Nicole Seawell ram Stein a Germany done to play god this is in response to the article concerning the child of Laura Campo and Justin Pearson who was bom Nence phallic. It is unimaginable to me that parents would be willing to expedite the death of their Newborn in Hopes of saving the life of another child. Its sad that society places a stigma on parents that sire disadvantaged children however it should not attempt to play the role of god in deciding who should live or who should die or even when they should die. The mentality that propounds such an unspeakable evil is most Likely the same mentality that supported a program such As the one established and later discontinued at Loma Linda University medical Center after parents offered up their handicapped children a organs so that a More medically desirable child could live. Extending this argument one can envision the Day when the in of a human being May be the determining Factor for whether a person lives or Dies.
