They continued living in the 91-year-old House after the Federal government seized it in March 1989, but authorities evicted them in december and jailed Kehler for three months for contempt of court. Franklin moved in april 15, politely stepping around three protesters who were living there. The protesters refused for five Days to leave and communicated with friends outside by holding notes up to windows. Franklin a friends and supporters a including fellow police officers a sometimes sleep at the House walking past protesters who keep warm at a Wood stove on the Walkway. Both sides have restrained their tempers despite some taunting
