It features several houses built in the 16th Century with some some even older. An inscription above no. 23 states that the House on that spot was to be razed in the 14th Century and that rebuilding was prohibited. At no. 48 the Date 1245 has been carved into the edifice of a building where the pianist morgue lived. Morgue s main claim to Fame is that he taught Franz Joseph Haydn and Franz Schubert. Farther Down the Street is the House called Quot the it was once Home to the Schong auers a family of Goldsmiths.
