Australian rider Michael Doohan embarrassed the rest of the German motorcycle grand prix Field sunday in route to his fifth 500 cubic centimetre class Victory of the season. Doohan Riding a Honda increased his total grand prix Points to 130, out distancing american Kevin Schwantz by 24.626 seconds at the Hocken Heiring. Despite the second place finish Schwantz vaulted into second place in the world championship Chase with 77 Points. The americans surrounded Doohan on the pole position with riders Wayne Rainey Schwantz John Kocinski and Doug Chandler filling four of the top six positions. But the Brisbane native blew past them and led the entire Way and Rode a whee lie to the finish line on the Home stretch. Doohan never trailed in the race and Schwantz maintained second place throughout the Chase. The Battle for third place was won by Doohan a countryman and Honda mate former world Champion Wayne Gardner. A everything seemed to work with the Honda today a Doohan said after sip Ping his fifth bottle of Victory Champagne this season. A the Bike seemed to drive out of the Slippery Corners. It seemed like everyone else was having problems  although Schwantz was never in Contention sunday he now finds himself Back in the race for the world title a a Consolation prize he welcomed. A once i got out of micks Slipstream there Wasny to much i could do except Lay Back a Little and finish the  Rainey who was second to Doohan in both of the qualifying runs this week dropped out of the race after the 10th Lap with a nagging injury on his right ankle that he sustained in a crash on saturday. The californian almost missed sundays Start after tumbling from his Yamaha As he accelerated out of the Sachs curve one of the few left handed curves on the circuit. Rainey sustained a Small Chip in a Bone in his left hand and sprained his right ankle in the crash but was cleared to race late saturday night. He finished eighth in sundays 500cc Warmup run. Although he accumulated no Points on sunday Rainey the defending world Champion still holds third place in the title run with 65 Points. Italian Fier Francesco c a Hill burned through the Field to take the 250cv Crown in 34 00.719, edging countrymen Massi Milano Biaggi and Loris re giant. Luca Candalora who leads the 250cc class finished fourth
