A Juandalynn r. Cunningham 34th general Hospital Augsburg German earrings still there in a a teacher at Nairn Borg High school in Firth. One Friday after school i rushed to the pm to Purchase some needed items. Hurriedly i went in the ladies dressing room with a Blouse i had selected. I removed my earrings and placed them on a nearby shelf before trying on the Blouse. When i arrived Home later that evening. I realized i did not have my earrings. Since i had a weekend trip planned i did not Call about my loss until monday i talked with Nancy in the ladies department about my lost earrings. I explained to her where i had left them and that perhaps there was a slight possibility someone had found them. Nancy checked at the desk and went Back to the dressing room they were there exactly where id left them on Friday the earrings were not expensive but had special sentimental value. I was shocked they were still there. We often discuss what has happened to values character and morals. Yet its enlightening to know there Are honest people out there. Maybe we dwell too much on the few who Are not trustworthy. For the Many people who could have put those meaningless earrings in their pocket i say thank you. A Norina ii. Mcclincy Nairn Borg Germany _ overweight need help this is in response to a flabby dependents nov. 2. Concerning the physical appearance old Many Quot military dependents. The writer used the words fat fat folks at least half a dozen times probably More had his article not been obviously edited. I and others in my Field chose to use the terms overweight or obese depending on the severity of the condition when referring to individuals who would fit such categories. These terms Are not euphemisms and using them does not in any Way attempt to detract from the seriousness of medical risks which May he exacerbated by their overweight condition. Explanations for being overweight Are numerous. Some May be legitimate while others Are just excuses. Nevertheless i do not see the Quot main reason Quot As being a Quot hand to Mouth if the reason is not purely a physiological one then it could be psychological or a combination of both. Many severely overweight people suffer from among other things psychological garbage which they have accumulated Over the years manifesting itself through overeating behaviour thus obesity. I have a bachelors degree in education and eight years of teaching experience. In be been Able to find teaching positions in England Monte Carlo and California. On my arrival to Germany i made the trip to the civilian personnel office i was informed i was not eligible for a Dodds teaching position because i was not a . Citizen. 1 started to look for other employment a my choices drastically reduced As 1 was Only eligible for local National positions. After a month of Volunteer work i applied for the position of a child development services preschool teacher. T was interviewed and after lengthy background checks informed id been offered the position. I went to co to sign my contract and As 1 was discussing the contract with the personnel specialist another employee informed me a mistake had been made. The Job was not available to a local National and i was not eligible for the position. This was confusing As my application had already been approved by the colonel involved in recruiting civilian personnel. 1 was offered no apology. After two months i got a cd position three months later another position became available in the same department three Grade Levels higher than the one i now hold. I have the qualifications to apply for it if Only i was a . Citizen. I feel very let Down by a system that does not offer me an equal Opportunity to compete fairly with other applicants for a position i have the qualifications to hold. The system does not enable me to have a part of the american dream that i grew up hearing so much about a equal Opportunity to All those who wish to succeed. A Jane Millet graft Wohr German red Cross does a lot two months ago my knowledge of and interest in the red Cross did no to exist. All i knew was that they collect blood. Isnit that what most of us think since that time in be been living in Germany with my Fiance looking for employment in my College major. The fact that i am considered a tourist made such employment impossible to find. My last resort was to Volunteer. After speaking with the Kirch Gons red Cross station manager i found they needed help in my area of study and since that Day in be had countless opportunities to use my skills. This experience will definitely help my future Job search but even More importantly it gives me a sense of accomplishment. It was the Best move i could have made. I had no idea the red Cross offered financial Aid to soldiers in emergency situations. Last year the Kirch Gons red Cross gave out Over $62,000 in emergency Aid to soldiers in need and they re not funded by the Federal government but by donations. Funds arc available to distribute to needy soldiers family members Federal employees and yes even tourists. The red Cross also sends emergency messages All Over the world holds car first Aid and even aerobics classes. A Jill a Boorujy Kirch Gons German please sort the trash i work for Deh directorate of engineering and housing in Wiesbaden on an army garbage truck. Throughout the Community there Are dumpsters for paper and cardboard Only. There Are also Recycle containers for paper and Glass in the housing area. Many people Are either too Lazy or just done to care to use the proper method of disposal. I see paper cardboard Glass Wood and household trash in dumpsters. When Irish is mixed and not in the proper dumpster it causes the Deh to leave it until the problem is resolved. When Deh attempts to take the Load to the Wiesbaden Peronie trash dump the City will not allow the dumping of mixed trash. Cardboard and paper must be separated so that they can be recycled. Please help the environment by pitching in and sorting you trash. Please Recycle your newspapers. A Linda m. Moore Wiesbaden Germany
