What happens when those Young soldiers decide to make the military a career they can try to become an officer with increased pay and responsibility or a senior no with increased responsibility. To be competitive for enlisted promotions today a soldiers must operate sophisticated equipment understand Complex concepts and earn at least a few years of College. Soldiers who decide to become the future senior cos need to understand that a retired e-9 with More than 20 years earns the same As a Captain with four years. Pay becomes even More inequitable considering the responsibilities of a command sergeant major. The solution is to increase the enlisted pay at around e-5 or e-6. When they become career soldiers and earn the appropriate rank they should be paid As a professional.
