And no trip to Berchtesgaden Germany is Complete without a tour of Konig see and St. Bartholoma Church situated on a Peninsula at the far end of the Lake. By All accounts Lake Konig see is Germany s cleanest and most enchanting body of water. It s a watery Haven that was once a favorite  for bavarian Kings and today for the 750,000 tourists who visit this Gem of a Lake each year. Situated  Berchtesgaden near the German austrian Border Konig see is one of nature s priced possessions the Lake is 5 Miles Long about 1,400 Yards wide and More than 600 feet deep. The Lake is fed by underground streams which results in much turbulence at the Bottom and and Why the Lake stays so cold said Joyce Alberts an american tour guide from the general Walker hotel. A tour of the Lake starts at the Walker hotel where a bus transports you Down to the Ken Issee docks. Buses also leave from the City s train station. With the distance to the docks a Little More than two Miles people can also ride bicycles or walk along  that follows the Stream leading to the Lake. Buses Stop Short of the Lake. The walk Down to the docks wends through the Village of Konig see which is lined with vis Torso by boat to St. Bartholoma Church at the far end of Ken Issee. Touristy shops and food vendors. One Way to appreciate the Beauty of Konig see is to take the half mile path that Breaks off to the left. It ends at Maler Winkel or painters Corner where the mountains begin their embrace of the Crystal Clear Lake. Many a Painter has captured the Beauty of the Lake from this quiet Corner. The most conventional Way to View Konig see is by boat. Twenty one electric powered boats Are available to ferry passengers across the Lake through the fior like Canyon of Granite. The boat tour typically takes about two hours. If you Are on your own j boats depart daily every 30 minutes Iri the summer from 7 15 . To s . And every 30 to 45 minutes in the Winter from 9 45 . To 3 30 .
