And we get the penalty and they go on Down and score."/. Robinson was t particularly upset Over the incident. He grabbed me by the face mask and i tried to grab his legs and we went Down he said of his encounter with Trapp. I think maybe he just got caught up in the heat of the game. That s the Way it is sometimes. A Rodney Hampton turned around the wild card game Between the new York giants and the Minnesota Vikings with the help of his blockers and a slight coaching adjustment at halftime. The adjustment to right 38, h Lead sprung Hampton for a 51-Yard run Early in the third Quarter sunday and tied the score at 10-10 with David Treadwell s extra Point. The giants booed off the Field at half time went on to win 17-10 on Hampton s second touchdown a 2-Yard score later in the third Quarter. Coach Dan Reeves said he modified the sweep right after seeing the Vikings formation and watching How they Pur sued the run. So he sent blocking Back Aaron Pierce in motion in a different direction than Normal and it worked. It was a great run great blocking and a great Job by Chris Calloway basically blocking his Man for 20 Yards quarterback Phil Simms said. Hampton scored on the giants fourth play of the third Quarter his first carry of the second half in route to a 161-Yard Day on 33 carries. New York took Possession on its 38 and set up Hampton s run with 12 06 remaining by converting a third-and-7 with a 9-Yard pass to Dave Meggett. Hampton said he knew the team needed to score before losing the wind inthe fourth period. We wanted to score Quick because the wind was in our favor said Hampton making his first playoff , you get pumped up and keep making plays you like to have the Ball i your
