I had a few Beers three to be exact and the Young couple had a few More. On the Way Home the wife said she would drive since she Felt she was a bit More sober than her husband. A few blocks from my House we were pulled Over by the police. The wife was Given a sobriety test which she failed. She was placed under arrest which i could understand. What i done to understand is Why the police officer asked her husband and me to step out of the Van and take a sobriety test As Well. The officer asked me to recite the alphabet from d to a which i did flawlessly. He i then asked me to walk a straight line placing one foot directly in front of the other. Ann in a 74 years old and i done to walk too steadily under Normal circumstances. I tried to explain this to the officer but he shouted at me to a shut up a and then he twisted my Arm behind me and put Handcuffs on me. We were All arrested for Public intoxication. We had to spend the night in jail since we did no to have the $100 bail Money. The following morning we appeared before the Ann Landers judge and were charged with Public intoxication. We decided to plead guilty and pay the Fine because in this town the officers word is Law. Do the police have the right to arrest a passenger in a car and subject him to such humiliation Dallas Reader dear Dallas we checked with the Dallas police department and Learned that once a Driver is arrested the officer can investigate the other passengers. It docs sound however As if the arresting officer was unnecessarily rough. Dear Ann Landers my wife is an incurable Telephone pest. Soon after i got my first full time Job a a Sharon called me so often that i had my number changed. At my next Job i had my own private line but Sharon again made such a pest of herself that my assistant would no longer answer my phone. Sharon continues to Call me to Tell me things i already know and to remind me to do things i am already doing. What can you suggest new York . Dear  get a new number at once.
