His concern for the army of the �?T90s apparently does not include slanderous commentary from military members directed against other military members based upon irresponsible observations. To compare the Berlin brigade Parade with the v corps special troops in change of command ceremony is weak at. Best. An. Entire brigade participated in our Parade compared to the two platoons the writer cited. Our numbers alone increased the probability of having heal casualties. Our Parade lasted Neay one hour and 30. Minutes. That docs not include the preparation time involved with such an immense undertaking during which the majority of soldiers Are subjected to the same hot and strenuous conditions endured during the Parade itself. That a a far cry from a 40-minute change of command ceremony. Although both parades were conducted in hot weather the writer failed to mention on what Type of terrain his Parade was conducted. The majority of military parades Are conducted on a Grassy Field. Ours however was on Asphalt. It is common knowledge that temperatures Over Asphalt on a sunny Day greatly increase. What a More previous Berlin parades were usually held in the morning when the  cooler. By necessity both the fourth of july and july 12th parades were held in the afternoon during Peak temperatures. Also it is my experience and that of other soldiers no doubt that inclement weather such As rain Hail and Snow provide a distraction to the Parade itself and therefore a Relief. A i do not refute the writers Pride in being part of the Berlin brigade. Unfortunately it would appear that he left his Pride behind upon departing Berlin.
