My son was so upset and in Shock to see me the Way i was. The Man took my son to his car to Calm him Down. So he would t have to see me. What this Man did on that Day for my son meant so much to me. These people have been with me for All of the ups and Downs in my life since our first meeting. This group i speak of is the tops Chap Ter #44 at Ramstein a Germany. Tops stands for take off pounds sensibly. The collection of people involved with this club work toward two goals the correction of excessive weight and the maintenance of proper weight by members having achieved Normal weight levels., tops is not just another weight loss group. It is a collection of individuals like myself who need to take control of their weight. It s educational therapy personal growth and discovery. It s inspiration and lifestyle changes. Commentary tourist by Elaine Viets St. Louis Post dispatch if i say hawaiian shirt big gut Black socks and sandals you think tourist right everyone knows dumb dowdy duds Are the uniform of americans on Vaca Tion. Take another look. Maybe tourist garb wont grab Armani but on vacation we Aren t nearly As nerdy As we believe. I spent a Day studying tourists at the mall in Washington . That s not the shop Ping Center. That s where you find the museums and monuments and hordes of people looking at the de Koonings and the Dinosaur Bones. Here s the Good news not a single person wore Black socks with Bermuda shorts and sandals. Not even Pudgy Guys from Akron Ohio in town with the wife. Whether we re from Seattle Saratoga n.y., or St. Louis we dress much the same on vacation. Tourist clothes Are so standardized they could be issued As uni forms. The vacationing american wears these four elements a Fanny pack. Usually Wack always packed. Tennis or running shoes. These Are White with White socks. Only Wear sandals or flip flops if you want to display Large hairy feet shorts or jeans. A t-shirt."-."7 most of us have quit using our bodies As billboards at least when we travel. This is probably smart. A to shirt that says life is Short play naked looks funny when you Wear it with your friends. But it might give strangers the wrong impression. On the Road Many of us stick to Safe simple one color to shirts All Black or All White for the truly Cool red or purple or Blue for the rest. Mickey mouse the most american of All shirts is almost always worn by some one from another country. For men Only for male tourists add a baseball Cap. Not even the baseball strike can make a Man take off his baseball Cap Guys put them on shortly after birth and keep them on until the undertaker re moves them. Excess baggage generation x usually wears a Backpack. Many baby Boomers and older tourists carry around something More permanent a gut. I m not poking fun at flab. Guts Are monuments to a lifetime of Good Liv ing. Display them proudly. A Good gut takes years to get and costs More than Gucci. Besides on vacation it s the Only Tujing you won t lose.
