I can probably Tell you Why you Don t get As Many letters As you did in years past 1. When we wrote to you concerning a problem we did it because you were usually the last resort and would do a Little investigating outside of our chains and come up with a reply and usually some action from the source of our problem. You Don t do that anymore. 2. When we wrote to you concerning something we Felt strongly about As Long As it was printable you printed it in its entirety editing for clarity without cutting it Down to allow for space. You Don t do that anymore. 3.1 remember when you encouraged us to Send our amateurish poetry to you and you printed it once a week and it was a great feature of the paper. But you guessed it you Don t do that anymore. 4. Some of the people that i correspond with to this Day came from the pen pal column that used to appear but. Anymore. Don t get me wrong. The stars and stripes is a great newspaper and i prefer it to any paper in the states. It s compact and carries a lot of news without All of the advertising that sometimes makes it hard to find the news. But it is a people paper and we Are the people. Apparently he has forgotten about an incident Back in March involving a High Speed Chase that resulted in a shootout. Well i never will because i was one of the maps who was there that night. I will always remember treating a gunshot wound of an innocent victim because his buddy started out speeding and ended up trying to run Down a Cid criminal investigation come agent and break through a police Roadblock. He has obviously never seen firsthand what Speed can do to people. I have responded to enough traffic accidents rang ing from children getting hit to people going through windshields to know that Speed and carelessness Are the major cause. It makes me feel Good to know that this Reader is so paranoid about Speed while driving on Rose Barracks. That Way i know that my Little girl or anyone else s child can walk in a crosswalk and not worry about get Ting hit by a speeder. I wish people like this would learn where to vent their frustrations about traffic Laws. They should be directed toward the people who make them not at the people who protect and enforce them. Spec.
