win the Arnold Palmer invitational Singh made up a three shot deficit in seven holes then built such a big Lead that he could afford a few bogeys at the end of his round sunday to Cap Ture a trophy that has eluded him for 15 years he closed with a 3under 67 the second straight Day that he matched the Best score of the round to win by two shots Over Rocco mediate Singh didst make his pea tour debut at Bay Hill but he Al ways believed this is where he got his Start in the country he now Calls Home he was an unknown fijian when Palmer gave him an exemption in 1993 but not for Long Singh what makes him one of the Best in the game steadying himself on a scary tee shot on the 18th with a controlled fade to the right Side of the fair Way and a smart play away from the water plenty of club to find land the shot landed beyond the Green the Chip ran 8 feet by the Hole and he made the Par putt to finish at 8under 272 Chan Zitoun at Santa Clar Ita Calif Tom Purtzer won the champions classic for the second time in five seasons beat ing Loren Roberts with a 17foot Birdie on the fourth Hole of a play off Purtzer closed with a 4under 68 to match Roberts 69 at 10under 206 on the Valencia country club course
