Gen. Teny Allen Brig. Gen. Theodore Roosevelt and a j. Kenneth t. Downs have received prances Croix de Guerre from Gen. Luis Koeltz commander of the 19th French corps. It was the second French award made to general Allen he having also been awarded the officer degree of the legion do Conneur. With the exception of perhaps the purple heart or the air medal the Silver Star medal for gallantry in action during the tunisian Campaign has been the most largely distributed award of the War department.
