This was later con firmed in perpetuity and every year when july 25th, the feast of the apostle Falls on sunday is a holy year in Santiago. During 1954, the last holy year 700,000 pilgrims came to the shrine Santiago. Britons especially favored Santiago and English crusaders stopped there on the Way to the holy land. The two outstanding restaurants Are Caseiro noted for sirloin Steak and Vic Toria for its Hake. Best known of the galician dishes Are Vieira perhaps the most delicious of the galician shellfish. Although it is some times served fresh like oysters it is usually served cooked in the oven. Galician soup composed of potatoes Beans turnip tops spiced sausage and a Little salted pork. Empanada pie made of sliced boiled eggs raisins stoned olives chopped onion Pimento and minced meat. Galician Hake composed of potatoes and cooked Hake Seti soned with Oil garlic an Pimento. Lacon con Gre los foreleg of pork with tender turnip top perhaps the most typical dish of carnival time. It  foreleg Chorizo whole boiled potatoes and plenty of tender turnip tops cooked All together with the Broth drawn off and served separately. The dish is served with the turnip tops underneath the pork and the sliced sausage Fillias a Batter made of egg flour and milk cooked on a griddle or in a frying pan like French pancakes.
