After the election Chafee announced that he had conferred with leaders of the new Nixon administration about the Jess ability of taking a position in Washington. He later talked with Nixon at a meeting of the Republican governors conference. Chafee said one of his foremast considerations aside from the importance of any Job he might be offered would be the feelings of his family. At a recent news conference he said he had polled his children about moving to the nation s capital and Washington was a unanimous loser. Chafee is married to the former Vir Ginia Coates of Bayville ny., on Long Island.
