He related that a part of his own admissions examination was dusting a room he did it three times before being allowed to remain at Tuskegee Institute and he apparently believed this a suitable part of an Entrance examination. White people were pleased with  s program of education for Blacks and gave financial support which enabled him to develop Tuskegee Institute. Happily today Over 60 years after or. Washington s death Tuskegee has a regu Lar College curriculum with a Well trained faculty and High standards. There has been no denial by anyone that Blacks and other minorities have been denied adequate preparatory education be cause of racial discrimination. This is the Way it was when the separate but equal myth was floating around and this is the Way it is 23 years after the supreme court outlawed separate but equal education. Should a Black student who has obvious potential for development into a first rate doctor be forced into an Industrial Job be cause the Only undergraduate training available to a Black boy in his locality was lacking in certain areas of study should a Black student with High Intelli gence quotient be barred because the unequal education he received did not acquaint him with areas of knowledge to which a White student in a prep school was exposed will a Young Man named Bakke in his supreme court plea now destroy an Opportunity for Many Young Black people who aspire to be doctors lawyers teachers engineers or Well trained businessmen will the supreme court take assay from minority students the Small advantage Given them by special admissions pro Grams of some colleges c Register and Tribune Syndicate � 1977 los anoles time Ira c.
