During his last year of graduate studies at Johns Hopkins the Salt Lake City native went on a two month archaeological dig near Egypt s great pyramids. Most of the languages i know and work with in my studies Are dead languages like ancient egyptian arabic and  in order to be accepted As a student at the free University which Rhodes says has a Well known department of egyptology a candidate has to take a series of writ ten and Oral examinations to demonstrate proficiency in German. I took German in High school and lived in Germany for two years doing Church Mission work he said. The professors at the University saw that i knew the Lan Guage and what i had Learned about egyptology while a student at Baltimore so i was easily  Rhodes has Only to Complete his Disser tation and take final exams to get his doctorate degree.
