Classes have been conducted at locations ranging from Norway to Greece from Spain to Bel Gium Iceland saudi Arabia the far East the Sinai Peninsula and on Board Navy ships in the Caribbean the Mediterranean the Atlantic and Pacific oceans. Acc s programs for the military Europe first conducted classes in 1969 at two air Force bases. 805 students were enrolled that first year and the program has grown at a phenomenal rate in the inter vening 16 Yean. Over 30,000 students enrolled at Over 160 locations throughout Europe and the Middle East in 1984/85. While dozens of other educational inst financial Aid Tut ions have offered programs to the Mili tary Community in Europe in the past 30years, acc was the first to offer data processing courses that give students hands on training on microcomputers. 21, 000 students have enrolled in data process ing courses since 1980. Acc is currently the Only institution to offer an associate of arts degree completely through video cassette tape course format. For students at Remote locations or with scheduling conflicts due to duty pre recorded classes on video or audio cassette tapes May be the Only Means of continuing their education. Acc is also the Only institution in Europe authorized by the National registry of emergency medical technicians to administer the emt Basic examination. This certificate is accepted by Many states for licensing of Ems by their individual authorization boards for employment As emergency medical technicians. In addition to traditional video and audio cassette courses from anthropology to welding acc can develop special series of courses tailored to the specific needs of individual organizations. The army Navy and air Force will pay up to 90% of the tuition costs for military personnel enrolled in courses leading to a degree and approved by the service for tuition assistance. Tui Tion assistance May be granted with no limit on the number of courses or length of time enrolled. Commissioned officers assume a two year obligated service commitment by accepting tuition assistance. Enlisted personnel receive tuition assist Ance without service commitment. Pell Grant program the Pell Grant program is a Federal student financial Aid program designed to assist students who want to attend Post High school educational institutions. Student eligibility is based on financial need and is determined by applying a formula developed by the office of education and reviewed by Congress on an annual  utilizing this formula a student eligibility Index is granted which determines the amount of the student s Pell Grant award. The award is a Grant and docs not re quire repayment. The awards cover tuition fees room and Board books supplies and miscellaneous expenses. Acc is an Active participant in the Pell Grant program.
