The writer wrote that the soviets would take Over South Africa if South Africa was Independent under majority Black Rule. Before i make my Point the writer was misinformed on Zimbabwe. He wrote that Zimbabwe was  russian. Zimbabwe under Mugabe is known to be quite anti communist. Americans believe in democracy human Freedom and dignity. South Africa As Many of you know is ruled by a White minority. The Blacks the majority had been living in that land As civilized human beings Long before the handful of dutch and Huguenots came and settled on their land. 1 need not rehash the history of South Africa for i Don t have the space available. It is a known fact that today there is no democracy human Freedom and dignity for the Black Man of South Africa. I have lived 17 years in East and West Africa. I have been to school and lived there with people of All races and Back grounds. It was wonderful. There was no racial discrimination. This could also be possible in South Africa if it became inde pendent from the minority White Rule. The Independent Black african countries have relations with both the Eastern and Western bloc countries. The africans openly embrace any help they can get. So to say Russia backs certain regimes of Africa militarily or otherwise is no reason to get alarmed. A countries of the world especially the superpowers arc sometimes looking out for their own advantages. The White South african government is not Only keeping the russians out. But also every body else. Every country on Earth even the United states has some kind of relations with Russia be it in Trade or otherwise. Kenya for example is today one of the Many Young Independent african nations. 1 recall Many projects subsidised by Many countries one of them being Russia. The russians built a huge Hospital in the West Ern part of Kenya. Now this is not a cause for panic. The americans also had projects in Kenya and so did the East germans the English and Many other countries. They also All had embassies there. Look at Kenya today. In the Days of colonialism the continent was plundered and the colonists left it that Way. The african political system and customs were somewhat destroyed. So be a Little patient with the Afri cans and let them get Back on their own in their own Way. The two superpowers should be obligated to help give the Only non Independent coun try of Africa a Chance on its own and if they prefer a leftist rightist or a Middle of the Road regime it is for them to decide be cause they have been Long enough under one racist regime.
