Somehow he got the letter of notification signed by the air Force chief of staff. The message of her selection got lost somewhere in traffic he said. Dave tried to find someone appropriate to Tell Rosemary the Good news to no Avail. In the end there was no pomp and circumstance. I just handed her the letter he said. Johnston was picked by the air Forte association from 89 other nominees. She is among 12 who were picked by supervisors commanders and major com mands and ultimately the Afa and the air Force for the awards. Johnston gets to Wear the outstanding airman of the year ribbon from now on and will serve on the Afa s enlisted Council this year. She will be leaving Turkey soon for Safe he at Ramstein Al Germany an assignment she received before the outstanding airman award. A would be Nice if they did t know it she said.
