The Soldier s Basic allowance for quarters bad is now included when determining the Advance Oha authorized said Sec. Michael Donohuk re source management spokesman. Bad is no longer subtracted when computing the total year s housing allow Ance which is an important change in he policy As it will allow the Soldier to draw a larger Advance than before do Nhuc said. Soldiers May request Advance Oha to help defray rent and expenses directly related to Economy housing including required Advance rent Security deposits initial expenses to occupy Economy housing and Utility Bills. The Soldier May request the enact amount needed or can draw housing Al Lowance for one year or up to the length of his tour Donohue said. A Soldier on a 24-month tour could request the housing allowance he d earn while on that tour or he can request the actual amount needed Donohue said. The amount requested is prorated Over the same number of months and automatically deducted from the sol Dier s monthly pay tie said. The Soldier also can request a delay of three months before making the first repayment. Donohuk said the amount of Advance Oha allowed is determined by adding the Soldier s rental ceiling which is Oha plus bad or actual rent whichever is less Utility allowance currently si59 and moving in and moving out allow Ance currently $6. That amount is multiplied by the number of months of and Vance payment requested. Those soldiers who request Advance Oha to pay a Security Deposit do not have to repay that amount until they move out of Economy quarters Donohue said. Once they move out and gel their Deposit Back they can repay the Money 1o finance he said. However if they do not get the full Deposit Back they repay what they did get Back and then can prorate he remaining balance pro Viding they Stilt have time in service remaining. If they arc getting put of the army they must pay he entire Deposit before leaving the  soldiers requesting Advance Oha must show their commanders or unit or Derly room Why they need it Donohue said. The Soldier then takes the request to his unit s servicing finance office to receive inc payment. Local finance offices have additional information about Advance Oha pay ments.
