European Stars And Stripes (Newspaper) - June 9, 1987, Darmstadt, Hesse Tuesday june 9, 1987 the stars and stripes Ann Lahners dear Ann Landers i am a 31-year-old happily mar ried Man who is writing to you not for advice Bat for reassurance. I have been wearing a Long leg panty Girdle for quite some tune. No one knows this but my wife and the says it s of with her. She wore my Boxer shorts when she was pregnant please understand Ann i m not Gay and i m not a transvestite. I get no kick out of wearing women t undergarments. The truth is. I Wear this thin for the same reason my wife does. It holds my stomach in smooths my backside and makes me look better. I see nothing wrong or perverted about a Man wanting to look neat and trim. Since no one makes a decent Girdle for men Only Bulky corsets for Back problems am Force to Wear an extra Large woman s size. I d like your approval. How about it Holyoke mass. For years i believed my parents had a perfect marriage i never heard an argument or a Cross word pass Between them. There was always affection and respect. Seven years ago i heard rumours that my father was involved with a woman who was my age. Did t be Lieve it. My Mother told me that she had heard ther mors too and called them vicious a few weeks ago the rumours were confirmed by a unimpeachable source. Apparently this affair has been going on for 10 years my husband tells me to stay out of it he claims that if it s lasted for 10 years the tie must be very Strong and my father can t let go. I am torn up Over this and am angry at my Mother for letting my father do this to her. 1m sure she knew All along. Why did she hide her head in the Sand and pretend that everything was Lovely where is her Pride i am also angry with Ray father for behaving so shabbily. Should 1 try to talk some sense into his head should i Tell Mother i think she ought to get a divorce please advise. Tortured in California cart perhaps Yew Mother asked herself that fan a Ann Landers question Wold i be better off with him or with tit Elmr and decided that half a loaf was better thaa Stone. Aj.m., the Napa if s Worth a try. Go ahead and let me know what refunds not allowed under new go Bill in reference to the new i Bill Why can t soldiers who Are entered in this program get their Money Back i realize that upon signing up for the program they agree in the contract that they will not receive a re fund but i do not understand Why they can t get their own Money Back. When i called the local education Center a Counselor said that All Money paid into the program is turned Over to the Treasury department and that the veterans administration does not keep record of deductions. The soldiers who entered the program have a record their leave and earnings statements. So Why if a Soldier has evidence can t he or die get a refund .1 know of a Soldier who is leaving the service under an honorable discharge. This Soldier is being chartered out so he can t use his total educational benefits but he should be Able to get his own Money Back. I tried calling the . Consulate to talk to a veterans administration official but did t have any Luck getting through to anyone. When giving a response to the above question please dont make me choke on the answer. I can understand charging a Soldier a service ice for processing into or out of the new i Bill program but i can to or i pin Rte Fital am name the Soldier i am referring to Pat $1,200 into the program. Is this the Price the a justifies for process ing if so members of the a who voted this in should have to pay in another $1,200 service charge them selves. Or does t the Boot fit any More time to write Congress again. Staff or. Susan Durban Darmstadt Germany editor s note rep. . Montgomery d miss., chairman. House veterans affairs committee replies thank you far your letter regarding he no refund policy under the new i Bui chapter 30, title 38,United states code for act re duty Serra remembers. As clarified under Public Law 99-576, a participant in the new i Bill agrees to a $100 per Mont u reduction in his or her Basic pay for 12 months. Let me emphasize that this is a reduction in Basic pay not a contribution and the participant is taxed Only on the reduced amount of bask pay. Because no contribution has been made there is nothing to return to the participant in the event tint the individual does not for whatever reason use his or her education assistance benefits. I Hope this information is helpful to Yon. Reason for ticket agent fees explained i recently purchased four tickets to the Marlboro country fest i paid 68 Marks per ticket at the Hanau itt office. On the ticket the Price was listed As 60 Marks Torver for Early Purchase and 66 Marks abcs do or for Purchase the evening of the concert. When i asked Why i had to pay eight Marks per ticket More than the base Price of 60 Marks for Early Purchase i was told that the tickets were handled by a series of agents who tacked on their fees. It seem to me that eight Marks per ticket is extremely expensive for an agent s fee. I ended up spending More than i would have if i had bought the tickets on the night of the concert. Please clarify the agent s fees that Are attached to tickets sold by itt and explain where tickets can be purchased with no fee or a Tower fee. Deborah Scholz Hanan Germany editor s note Gail Goriesky chief itt pro Gram Usa eur Community and family support Agency replies thank Yon for pointing out that the Way tickets Are priced May cause some confusion. We re sure that other customers have had similar questions. In general the system works like this the promoters of a concert or other special event Settle original ticket prices based on various economic considerations. These prices represent the full amount they expect to receive from each and every ticket sold. Agents or other middlemen must pay the full Price for such tickets. There Are no discounts. To cover heir costs operating expenses unsold tickets Etc Aad still make a profit agents Musl add handling fees to the Price they charge the general Public. Unfortunately there Are Only two ways to avoid or Lessen these fees Purchase the tickets directly from the promoter or from the ticket office at the location of the will have to handle the details by mall or make a trip to the site. Purchase the tickets the night of the event. You will have to pay the Hlf her Price and will be taking a Chance that the concert is sold out. We re sorry but there s no other magic Way to re Duce these extra ticket fees. Sharing the credit for Boeselager cup in a recent Issue of the stars and stripes it was announced that the american Boeselager team had finally done it it had won the coveted Boeselager cup and silenced the critics. This is indeed a great achieve ment for these soldiers for they trained Long grueling hours with one simple objective winning. Where do troops with this kind of desire come from Well not All of them come from the 11th Arm Cav regt As your article said. These soldiers came from All three proud squadrons of the Blackhorse regt 1st, 2nd and 3rd. Let s not forget that. After a Long competitive selection process the sol Diers who found themselves on the team after the dust had settled were attached to the 1st so this is where the regimental Headquarters is located and where the base of training was also located. Many cavalrymen Here were upset that the credit for the Victory was not evenly shared throughout the 11th army cavalry regt i Hope that this Sheds some Light to the read ers who arc not familiar with the Boeselager Competition. But let s not squabble Over what was probably an honest mistake by a reporter and give a Hearty congratulations to the cavalrymen who finally shut the critics up and covered themselves and the 11th car with glory.
