She was in for blood transfusions and treatment of her anaemia Powell said wednesday. He said the treatment included injection of intravenous drugs through a Catheter implanted in a vein. When a patient has one of the catheters implanted Normal treatment includes Lushing the Catheter with heparin which dissolves Clou that can form and Block incoming medication. The Tacoma news Tribune reported thursday thei it had Learned that a nurse accidentally picked up a vial of potassium Chloride and injected it instead of heparin. Lacsina said potassium Chloride is used when a patient has Low potassium Levels. Which can be caused by an overdose of potassium Chloride. Powell would neither confirm nor deny that information.
