Fla. A vice president of Corgi Bush won a solid  in a Straw poll among Flor Ida republicans saturday and Pat Robertson picked up most of the votes Bush missed in balloting that was derided As meaningless and a stacked  by other gop candidates. Bush got 1,32 votes or 57 percent while Robertson a former television evangelist had 849 votes or 37 percent. Rep. Jack Kemp of new York was third with 64 votes and former Secretary of slate Alexander Kaig rave Ivou 25 vote. A a 2,313 delegates to voted. Bush s National Campaign director. Lee Atwater called the result a Good healthy win in everyone s Book of  he praised Robertson s Strong show ing and said it was due to Good organization but added i Don t think he s going to win Florida on super  on March 8. Dubbed super tuesday Florida will be one of 17 states holding primaries or caucuses to begin picking their delegates to the Republican National convention. Mark Nuttli spokesman for Robertson said i m claiming Victory on our terms. It s now a two Man race in  Bush s supporters had said he had to make a Strong showing to avoid a perception of weakness in one of his stronghold states and Robertson had hoped for a Strong second place finish. The other candidates dismissed the poll As a non  the Straw poll has no Legal effect but Bush declared before the balloting. This convention is going to Send a message across America. He who wins it will be the next president of the United  Robertson in his turn before the convention said our task is not to fight each other. Our Job is not to beat republicans but beat  Robertson who earlier shocked Bush with his George Bush addressing Florida republicans. Strength in Iowa Michigan and South Carolina publicly claimed support from More than half of the 1,500 at Large participants Here in Advance of saturday s Vot ing. His supporters had spent months working on the county level. Sen. Storms dump ran heavy Snow on Western safes by the associated press a snowstorm intensified. Saturday when it moved into the Central Rockies and showers of rain and Snow were scattered Over the Northern and Centra Rockies and the higher elevations of Ari Zona. A Winter storm warning was posted for the mountains of Utah and a heavy Snow warning was issued for the state s Wasatch front Range with a Snow advisory posted for the higher valleys of South Western Utah. The Snowbird and Alia ski resorts i Utah had received 11 inches of Snow by afternoon and accumulations of up to 16 inches were reported in the state s mountains. In Colorado a heavy Snow warning was posted into sunday morning Over the state s Southern mountains where unto 15 inches of Snow was expected. Weather advisories for 2 to 6 inches of Snow were issued for the night and Sun Day Over the Eastern Foothills. Two inches of Snow fell overnight into saturday at crested Butte. A Snow advisory was posted for Arizona s Central mountains with accumulations of 3 to 6 inches expected at elevations above 6,500 feet. A weather advisory for up to 10 inches of Snow and Strong Gusty winds was is sued across Central and Southern Wyom ing and a Winter storm watch was posted into sunday Over Northwestern new Mexico. The Southwest also was buffeted by High wind with gusts to 52 Mph at Ruidoso n.m., and to nearly 50 Mph at Texas Guadalupe pass. Gusts to 48 Mph were measured at Mojave Calif. Wind warnings were posted in some Mountain areas of Southern California and Texas and a Gale warning was posted for the coast of Washington state. Also in the West rain showers wit Mountain Snow were scattered Over West Ern sections of Washington and Oregon. An Inch of Snow fell at Stampede pass wash., during the morning after 5 inches fell during the night. It was the first substantial storm of rain and Snow of the season for drought stricken Oregon with 6 inches of Snow at Timberline Lodge on mount Hood. Elsewhere scattered Light rain fell Over upstate new York and Northern new England and Patchy dense fog reduced visibility to near Zero around Toledo Ohio. Midday temperatures in the area of the storm were mostly in the upper 30sand 40s, but East of the Rockies tempera Tures were near or above Normal. The 1 . Temperature at Washington d.c., was 67 degrees three Days after the City was buried beneath a foot of Snow. Temperatures ranged from 30 degrees at Yellowstone National Park in Wyom ing to 86 at Mcallen Texas. The Low for the Day was 17 degrees at Hibbing Minn. On sunday showers and Thunder storms were moving in from the South Ern half of the Plains into the Middle Mississippi Valley scattering rain Over the upper Mississippi Valley and the Eastern Dakotas changing to Snow in the Western Dakotas Snow across the Central High Plains the Central Rockies and East Ern Arizona and rain with Snow at higher elevations from the Northern Pacific coast into Northwestern Montana. Highs in the 30s and 40s were predicted from Washington state across much of the plateau Region and the Rockies into the Northern half of the Plains and upper Michigan and across upstate new York and new England in the 70s Over Southern California in the 70s and 80s from Southern and Eastern Texas across the Central Gulf coast states into Georgia and Florida and inthe 50s and 60s Over much of the rest of the nation. The 1.5 million infections estimated last year by the centers for disease control was arrived at by not much More than Guesswork the newspaper said. The Tribune said that based on the memo and interviews with unnamed White House sources the White House concluded that there is no rapid expansion of the disease and none is expected and that among heterosexuals the aids epidemic has never really  it is not known whether everybody in fete t eventually will get the disease.
