Viola 14-2, has not lost in the met radome since May 22, 1987. In 23 starts at Home since then Viola is 18-0. Viola in tying the Chicago cubs Greg Maddux for the major league Lead i wins became the earliest 14-game win Ner in twins history. The left hander reached the 14-Victory Mark last season on aug. 16. After giving up a Home run to Dwight Evans in the fourth Viola did t allow a hit the rest of the Way. He struck out five and walked none. The twins backed Viola with 11 hits led by Kirby Puckett s four hits and two Bis. Gene Larkin also drove in two runs with a sixth inning single extending his hitting Streak to 10 games. Mike Henneman 4-2, got the Victory despite allowing a three run Homer by Dave Valle that put Seattle ahead 6-5 inthe top of the ninth. Angels 5, Blue jays 4 Toronto Chili Davis hit his Sec Ond Home run of the game with two Outin the 10th inning to give California a Victory Over Toronto. Davis who had four hits hit both homers off reliever David Wells 3-5, and has 12 for the season. Pinch hitter Nelson Liriano hit a two run triple in the ninth to tie the score 4-4. Robin Yount who earlier hit two Dou Bles tripled Home Paul Molitor with the Brewers second run of the eighth As the royals lost their third straight game. Tom Filer 5-3, got the Victory with Relief from Chuck Crim and Dan Plesac. Pie Sac got the last two outs for his 19th save. Bret Saberhagen was charged with the loss falling to 10-7. I never saw the Ball Bounce Ponci no said. I saw the Ball go directly into his Glove. The grass is High out there but. In my judgment it was a clean  two of the other three umpires also said that from their positions they thought Butler caught the Ball cleanly. Butler said he thought he could catch the Ball before he dived but was t sure he got it on a Fly when he landed. Regardless he popped up and held up the Ball in his Glove. A had to come up with the Ball fast Roundup he said. If i had lain Down he might have called it Safe. But the replays show i got it on a  Zimmer complained Long and loudly to Poncino to no Avail. I asked him to look at the Ball an see if there were grass stains on it but he would t do it Zimmer said. I m not using this As an excuse to lose this game. The Guy pitched a shutout against us. He s got 19 different speeds. You re looking for a fastball you get a slow one. You look for a slow one you get a slower one. You look for a slower slower one you get a fast one. It drives you Wacky. I m glad i m not hitting against  the giants have won 10 out of their last 13 games. It was the first time the had Back to Back shutouts since last aug. 15 and 16 against los Angeles. Reuschel 11-4, allowed six hits walked none and struck out four to win for the fifth time in six decisions. The Victory was the seventh in eight games for the expos while the Astro lost for the eighth time in nine games. Leading 1-0, Perez 6-3, gave up a two run double to Rafael Ramirez in the third inning. But Hubie Brooks who started a second inning uprising off Jim Deshaies 5-6, with a double homered inthe fourth to tie it at 2. The expos then scored their winning run in the fifth on Hudler s rib single and made it 4-2 on a ninth inning rib triple by Nelson Santovenia. Joe Hesketh pitched the ninth for his fourth save. Mets 5, reds 4 new York Ron Darling drove inthe game winning run the first of his career and combined on a six hitter wit Randy Myers As new York overtook Cincinnati. Darryl Strawberry the National league Home run Leader with 21, hit a to Chen shot for the mets in the first inning. Kal Daniels and Paul o Neill each had two run homers in the sixth inning when the reds took a 4-2 Lead. Darling 7-2 in his last nine decision Sand 10-5 Overall allowed four runs on six hits Over 6% innings. Myers who replaced Darling in the seventh with a 2 0 count on Daniels struck out the red outfielder. He went on to hurl 2 a innings of witless Relief for his 13th save. Rob Murphy 0-4, second of five Cincinnati pitchers was the loser. Braves 3, Phillies 2 Atlanta Ken Oberkfell singled inthe tie breaking run with one out in the eighth to lift Atlanta past Philadelphia. It was the third straight Victory for the braves and their first sweep of a three game series this year. Dodgers 7, cardinals 3 los Angeles Franklin Stubb capped a seven run eighth inning with a tie breaking grand slam lifting los an Geles Over St. Louis. Stubbs winning hit came off reliever Todd Worrell 4-4, the third St. Louis Pitcher. The Victory went to Tim Crews 2-0, who relieved starter Fernando Valenzuela trailing 3-0 in the  pitched one inning and Alejandro Pena finished up
